The Daedric Princes

Lords of the Oblivion Realms

10 min read2025-02-20

Beyond the mortal plane of Mundus lie the infinite realms of Oblivion, each ruled by beings of incomprehensible power known as the Daedric Princes. Neither good nor evil by mortal standards, these entities embody fundamental aspects of existence itself.

Hermaeus Mora - The Gardener of Men

In the spaces between spaces dwells Hermaeus Mora, the Daedric Prince of knowledge and memory. His realm, Apocrypha, is an endless library of forbidden texts and forgotten lore. Seekers of knowledge often make pacts with Mora, trading their secrets for power—but the price is always more than anticipated.

Mehrunes Dagon - Prince of Destruction

Where Mora collects, Dagon destroys. The Prince of Destruction, Change, Revolution, Energy, and Ambition seeks nothing less than the complete annihilation of Mundus. His realm, the Deadlands, is a wasteland of fire and ruin.

Azura - Queen of Dawn and Dusk

Not all Princes are overtly malicious. Azura, the Prince of Dusk and Dawn, is considered one of the more benevolent Daedra. She governs the liminal times of twilight and has been known to genuinely aid her followers.

The Daedric Princes are not gods in the traditional sense—they did not create the mortal world and have no stake in its continuation. They are forces of nature given consciousness.
