The Shattering
The Demigods and Their War
When Queen Marika shattered the Elden Ring, she fractured not only the source of all power in the Lands Between, but also her own children. Each demigod claimed a shard of the Ring—a Great Rune—and war consumed the land.
Queen Marika the Eternal
Before the Shattering, Marika was the vessel of the Elden Ring, chosen by the Greater Will to bring order to the Lands Between. She bore many children, each blessed with a portion of her divinity.
But Marika harbored secrets. Her consort Radagon was not merely her husband—he was herself, two beings sharing one form. This duality would prove central to the cataclysm that followed.
The Children of Marika
**Godwyn the Golden**, firstborn and most beloved, was the first to die on the Night of Black Knives. His soul was slain while his body lived on, creating the first of the Those Who Live in Death.
**Morgott the Omen King** was born cursed, his body twisted by the influence of the Crucible. Despite his deformity, he remained loyal to the Golden Order.
**Malenia, Blade of Miquella**, is perhaps the most tragic of all demigods. Born with the Scarlet Rot festering within her, she has known nothing but decay. Yet she became the greatest warrior the Lands Between has ever known.
